Controls Project Manager II

(M/F/D)*

A Controls Project Manager II will be responsible for planning and delivering projects of medium to large size and complexity, developing budgets hands-on, and providing leadership to the project team.  Their duties include monitoring and controlling the budget for the project and advocating for additional funding when necessary, contracting professionals, or selecting project team members from existing departments, and setting, or adjusting, project schedules to adhere to deadlines.  Additionally, they will allocate project resources with the assistance of a Team Lead, establish subcontract agreements, monitor for contractual risk mitigations as it adheres to the stakeholders, and ensure delivery of controls systems that meets, or exceeds, TGW quality standards and processes.

What you’ll be handling

  • Manages projects through the entirety of the project life cycle.
  • Oversees mid-size to large projects with a budget up to $15M, 2 or more small projects with a budget of $5M or less, or phases of a larger project (>$15M) under a Level III Controls Project Manager.
  • Work closely with Functional Project Managers, Program Managers, System Engineers, HW & SW Engineers, and cross-functional teams to plan and drive the execution of engineering activities.
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
  • Oversee and assist in the development of all Test Plans and Reports involving the Controls Project Team.
  • Acquire OSHA 30 Certification.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering field of study preferred, or equivalent work experience, with 2-5 years of proven working experience in project management.
  • Knowledge of electronic, electrical, and automation engineering.
  • Passionate for team-based planning, problem-solving, and wholehearted commitment to building strong partnerships to support project goals.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills; written and verbal.
  • Experience working directly with clients on business development as well as project management, requiring credible negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with project management software tools (Visio, MS Project, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel (30-50%) and/or relocate.
