Resident Automation Technician II

(M/F/D)*

The Resident Automation Technician II supports our customer on all automation-related topics.  This position requires a broad-based electrical and mechanical skillset along with a proactive approach to identifying ways to improve the site’s performance through troubleshooting and hands-on repair.  Based at our customer site, the Resident Automation Technician II must represent the TGW image and ensure a professional relationship with the client is developed and maintained.

What you’ll be handling

 

  • Resolve customer equipment issues as quickly and practically as possible.
  • Complete work assignments and the associated work orders as assigned.
  • Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment on-site, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems.
  • Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs.  Interface with the customer as needed to support operations. 
  • Monitor and maintain the site spare parts inventory. 
  • Collaborate with the broader TGW Lifetime Services team to track, document, and communicate issues and lessons learned.

What you’ll need

 

  • High school diploma required.  Associate degree or Technical Certificate in Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial, warehousing/distribution, manufacturing, or related environments.
  • Familiarity with HMI (human machine interface) and/or SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition interface) experience.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings for use in diagnostics. 
  • Previous experience in electromechanical troubleshooting and repair of material-handling conveyors, AS/RS, and shuttle systems, preferred.
